IHRSC produces 2 nat’l champions, bags 9 medals

JAMMU: In yet another dazzling spell of stellar performances the skaters of Indian Hawks Roller Skating Club (IHRSC) won nine medals and produced two national champions at India Skates Games held in Pollachi Tamil Nadu. Indian Hawks Puneesh Puri and Tabish Haider Chib giving phenomenal performance at the national skating arena bagged three and two gold medals respectively to get the titles of national speed champions in their respective categories in quad and inline skating events. Besides two other skaters of Indian Hawks Roller Skating Club namely Kartikeya Puri and Ruhaan Raina also participated in the aforesaid championship and showcased dexterity by winning good numbers of medals. Kartikeya won one gold and two silver medals while Ruhan bagged a bronze. Appreciating the skaters coveted medal haul at India Skates Games, Ashok Gandotra (retd CE), President IHRSC appreciated the dynamism shown by these young players at the national gaming arena.
He said that it is a matter of pride for all the sports lovers hailing from J&K that all the members of the club have brought laurels for the UT by securing a slot at the podium to get the honour of wearing precious metals after showing extraordinary grit during the championship. He specifically congratulated all the stakeholders associated with sports in the UT for another successful event in the Roller Skating field. It is pertinent to mention that the entire squad of skaters belonging to IHRSC is busy preparing for the upcoming School Nationals and RSFI Nationals scheduled to be held later this year.
