IGGDC organises ‘Run for Health’ event

JAMMU: A running event was organised in Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Amphalla.
Amid COVID pandemic it was decided to limit the running track in the college premises.
More than hundred participants including students, doctors, paramedical and administrative staff took part in this five kilometre run.
Assembling of runners started at 7:30 AM which was followed by warm up session by professional Zumba trainer. The event was flagged off by Principal, Dr Rakesh Gupta and HoD Orthodontics Dr Akshay Gupta (I/c Sports).
Winners were selected in student and staff category and were honoured with appreciation certificates.
Dr Akshay Gupta in inaugural session advised to runners about the running tips and the value of good health for overall well-being.
He also motivated students to compete with themselves and be a better athlete for better physical and mental health.
Principal announced for introducing yoga and Zumba centre for students and staff in near future.
He also encouraged all incumbents of the institution to make the campus of institution a green zone by avoiding vehicular moment during the working hours thereby preserving the environment and conserving the energy resources.
