IETE J&K chapter celebrates Student’s Day

JAMMU: Jammu Sub-centre of Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) J&K chapter on Tuesday celebrated the Student’s Day with the collaboration of Department of Electronics, University of Jammu. Er. Nayrah conducted the proceedings of event. Er. Joy Ganjoo Chairman, IETE, Jammu Sub Centre informed that IETE came into existence in November, 1953 and presently, it has more than 63 centres and sub- centres across the country. He said engineering innovation is doing ‘something new’ that drives the technology sector forward. And how engineering innovation helps scientific community to spread wings across the technological world and creates resilient world.
Er. Vijay Sharma (Hon. Secretary) IETE Jammu Sub Centre read the President’s message on the Student’s Day of IETE. He emphasized that the students are the pillar and backbone and future of the society. The students play a significant role for the upliftment and development of the society by contributing the new innovations, research, he added.
Immediate past chairman IETE Prof Pawnesh Abrol, Head of Department of CS&IT University of Jammu dwelled on the courses and workshops being conducted for the students in the University of Jammu to make them job-ready
Prof. Praveen Lahana, HOD Deptt. of Electronics Jammu University also elaborated on the importance and significance of Hindu calendar. He explained the Puranna theories behind the development of it and how it works accurately is the scientific wonder.
Prof Rakesh Vaid (FIETE, University of Jammu) Past chairman spoke on how to achieve goals and be motivated to excel in the technological field. He elaborated and explained that student should prioritized and should be committed and focused on their goal.
Maj Gen SK Sharma (Fellow IETE,) (retd) and Principal MIET, Jammu spoke how IETE membership has helped many of the students to get high paying jobs in technology sector and also gave the concluding remarks on today’s event . Dr Radhika Khanna Hon.treasurer presented the vote of thanks. Quiz was conducted and prizes were distributed among the students.
Others who attended the celebration include Prof Rockey Gupta, Er Tiny Sawhney and faculty.
