Horticulture package will boost rural economy: Narinder

JAMMU: BJP State General Secretary, Dr. Narinder Singh has said that the State of Jammu and Kashmir is fast moving towards fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to double the income of farmers by 2022.
“PM’s Special emphasis has been on farmers and launched schemes aimed at providing adequate compensation in situations of crop loss and approving package for enhancement of horticulture produce, so that the income of the farmers get doubled by 2022”, Dr. Narinder Singh told reporters here on Friday. He added that it will result into boosting of rural economy. The recent approval for Rs. 500 crore Special Horticulture Package for Jammu and Kashmir by Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs will prove to be a big boost for the horticulture sector in the state, which will obviously enhance the economy of the rural areas, he said adding that while it will further promote the apple growth in Valley, Jammu province will witness plantation, development and promotion of new varieties of fruits.
