JAMMU: JKPS Kunjwani celebrated Hindi Week with great enthusiasm and reverence. The event aimed to highlight the importance of Hindi as the official language of India and to promote its rich cultural heritage among students. Every day program was meticulously planned by the Hindi Department, with active participation from both students and teachers.
Students from different classes presented the morning assembly on the topic “The Importance of Hindi in Modern India.” The young speakers expressed their thoughts on how Hindi continues to connect people across the nation while serving as a medium for preserving our rich cultural traditions.
The poetry recitation was one of the main attractions of the celebration every day. Students beautifully recited poems from renowned Hindi poets like Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Mahadevi Verma, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Rashtrakavi Dinkar, showcasing the richness of Hindi literature.
A group of students performed a skit everyday that creatively depicted the richness and impact of Hindi as a language, capturing human ethos from variety situations and emphasizing its relevance in the present-day context. The performances were both entertaining and informative.
A hand writing competition on the theme “Hindi: Our Identity and Pride” was organized for students of the primary wing. The best works of students were put on display & appreciated, reflecting students’ deep understanding of the role of Hindi in Indian society as well as their efforts to polish their writing skills.
The choicest Hindi dohas, which brilliantly sustained the onslaught of time on account of their time-tested sublimity and composed by Kabir & Rahim were recited by students, adding a festive spirit to the celebration. A group of students performed a folk dance based on a popular Hindi song, reflecting the cultural diversity of India.
An informative Quiz session was conducted everyday to test the knowledge of students, which was praised by one and all.
At the end of the Assembly, Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore applauded the creative endeavours of students under the guidance of their mentors. Highlighting the importance of Hindi language, he stated,
“September 14 is celebrated every year to mark the adoption of Hindi as one of the official languages of India. The significance of this day lies in promoting the use of Hindi and raising awareness about its rich heritage, history, and cultural importance”.
“India is a land of diverse languages and cultures. Hindi Diwas helps promote the idea of linguistic unity while recognizing Hindi as a bridge language for many in the country”, he added.
“The event not only helps our students understand the importance of Hindi but it also instils a sense of pride in their linguistic and cultural heritage”, he summed up.
The day reached its culmination point with a soulful recitation of the national anthem, wherein the teachers and students expressed their gratitude towards the martyrs, revolutionaries & freedom fighters for making supreme sacrifice for our Motherland.
