JAMMU: The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry has termed the incorporation of Clause 2.11.2 of the State Industrial Policy which allows non-State Subjects free access to land as mischievous. The Chamber in a meeting condemned the raking up of unnecessary controversies by a section of bureaucracy as a conspiracy to engage the State in further turmoil.
The President of the Kashmir Chamber, Mustaq A Wani expressed regret at the attitude displayed by the administration in ignoring the communication urging for a comprehensive discussion on the Draft Industrial Policy before putting it in public domain. “Instead, the Government decided to implement the policy in haste. Such haste could prove detrimental to the peace and stability of our fragile State”, he added.
The Kashmir Chamber has also taken a serious note of the role being played by certain centrally sponsored business organizations/chapters in promoting corporate interests aimed at diluting the interests of the State and its populace. The KCC&I discussed various consequences of such policies, which the Chamber has opposed throughout. “The Kashmir Chamber is very much conscious of the need for protection of our limited land and assets. Any move which threatens the Special Status of our State shall be appropriately opposed”, KCC&I handout stated.
