JAMMU: For over last one week motorists passing through the busy market area of Sector 5, Trikuta Nagar are facing hardships due to a tree hanging in air with major portion covering the road. Till date neither the Jammu Municipal Corporation nor any other agency, if required, has taken necessary action to clear the road by properly cutting the hanging portion of the tree.
Some of the wires are also entangled with the tree but despite repeated reminders the local authorities in the area have failed to come to the rescue of common masses. In the absence of clearing operations, the area witnessed frequent traffic jams as heavy movement of traffic is witnessed in the area. The Matador drivers are in the habit of parking their vehicles in the middle of the road to allow passengers to deboard and once they are standing the traffic behind is left with no space to cross the area leading to jams. Even the local BJP workers, who pass through the area before visiting their party headquarters have taken note of the mess despite VVIP traffic in the area. Senior officers of the State government also pass through the area on regular basis but it appears no one is interested in addressing the issue of removing the hanging tree.
