JAMMU: It is quite unfortunate that in this age of Internet the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board takes years together to complete selection process even for few posts which is grave injustice with educated youth. The so called and much hyped fast track recruitment process announced by the State Coalition Government has proved a hoax and a joke with the unemployed youth of the State
This was observed by former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla while addressing large number of youth who gathered here to air their grievances.
Expressing concern over the inordinate delay, he said government has failed to strengthen the JKSSB to expedite the selection process.
“The failure of the government to make good on promises to hire has hit the educated unemployed the most. For the past couple of years the reluctance of the State Government to provide jobs has led to already growing list of unemployed in the State. While the authorities had asked the recruitment agencies to complete the selection process in four months but that has not happened. Likewise the Education Minister had announced to employ 7,500 candidates through fast track but that has also not happened,” Bhalla stated.
Inordinate delay on part of the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board in initiating the recruitment process has evoked strong resentment and frustration among the aspirants, he said.
“Most of the job aspirants who have been waiting for the Service Selection Board to initiate the selection process castigated the board for inordinate delays in conducting written tests, interviews and announcing final selection lists,” he maintained.
Bhalla demanded that government should designate a nodal officer from their respective departments who will coordinate with JKSSB so that the referred posts would be filled within the stipulated time.
Bhalla regretted that except promises nothing has been done by the PDP-BJP Coalition Government on the ground. He reminded the gathering the previous Congress led Government had implemented its pro-people agenda and set an example of good governance.
“Congress Government had taken radical steps to solve day today problems of the masses and to bring in transparency and accountability in the governance,” he said.
