Govt to spend Rs 1 lakh Cr on development in next 5 yrs: Naeem

RAMBAN: Minister of Public Works, Naeem Akhtar on Monday said that the State is set to enter into an era of unprecedented development as the government is spending Rs 1,00,000 crore on roads, buildings and creation of other public assets in the next five years.
The minister said that the major advantage of this huge spending will be its commitment for ensuring equitable development of all regions. He was speaking at a public meeting at Ramban. Deputy Commissioner Ramban and other officials were also present on the occasion.
The minister asserted that government is committed to realise the equitable development of all constituencies of the state. He said that education and road connectivity are priority sectors for government and the state government is paying focused attention on these sectors.
The minister said that every constituency will get its due share and there will be no difference between Gandhinagar, Amira Kadal or Ramban when it comes to developmental share. He said that in the current year government is racing ahead to complete the black topping of 4000 kms of roads.
The minister further said there is no scarcity of funds on part of Government, new projects are being taken up regularly whereas old ones are being completed with expedited urgency. He appealed the people to become guardian and watch eyes of these projects. He called on youths to report any wrongdoing found in the execution projects of public importance.
“These projects which we are creating is from the public money and for the benefit of local population. Hence it is the concerned people who need to keep an eye on the quality execution of these projects. If you find any problem approach me without any delay and we will address the issue,” said Naeem Akhtar.
He said that Ramban district is one of the most beautiful districts of the state and its full potential will be exploited once it will have dependable connectivity to every village and town. He announced that the first phase of prestigious Mahu Mangat road will be completed by the end of this year, whereas work on other roads is also in full swing. The minister asked the officials to prepare the DPR of Kharri, Pogal and other roads which need to be macadamised, upgraded and expanded.
He also conducted an extensive tour of district Ramban and reviewed the developmental works and assess the needs of the people living in main town as well as far flung areas of the district.
