JAMMU: The essential purpose of the administration is to provide good governance. Good governance does not need proofs and evidences; it is a self-generating process. The Coalition Government will have to come above fear and favour, and deal with the issues in accordance with the law of the land.
This was stated by former Minister and Congress Senior Vice President Raman Bhalla while addressing a deputation of people from Preet Nagar locality falling under Gandhi Nagar constituency.
“The basic requirements for developing the State include proper infrastructure, industrial push, better road, rail and air connectivity, growth of agricultural production, skilled labour, technological advancement, adequate power supply and promotion of tourism”, said Bhalla.
He accused PDP-BJP Coalition of insensitivity in providing basic facilities like drinking water and electricity to the people of Jammu region. “The horrible power outage and acute drinking water shortage is unprecedented, which speaks of cruelty of the government towards residents. People of Jammu region are being neglected and discriminated despite repeated assurances from Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti”, he said adding that BJP had assured of development of all the regions but the people of Jammu region are still feeling neglected. He said the slow pace renovation work of Mubarak Mandi complex as Dogra Heritage and the ropeway project linking Mubarak Mandi with Bahu Fort are examples of BJP’s failure to properly represent people of Jammu. Citing that Tawi Lake Project in Jammu which was scheduled to be completed in March has been extended for two years, Bhalla claimed that Government is not serious to cater to the needs of people living in Jammu. He questioned BJP for its failure to address the aspirations of people of Jammu region, as the party always accused the State and Central governments for not giving the due treatment to Jammu.
Tilak Raj Bral, Jasbir Singh Bhatti, Maya Kour, Dr Sabarwal, Pardeep Chib, Shiv Nath Billu, Narinder Singh, Narinder Saini, Manku Singh, Manohar Singh, Gopal Dass, Amarjit Singh, Sunil Singh and Vicky Choudhary were also present.
