Govt to rejuvenate orchards: Veeri

SRINAGAR: Minister for Public Works and Parliamentary Affair Abdul Rehman Veeri replying to a question of Yasir Reshi in the Legislative Council informed that the rehabilitation by way of rejuvenation of damaged orchards has been made part of Prime Minister’s Package and will be considered in a phased manner. The minister informed that waiving-off of 50 per cent KCC loan of farmers is under active consideration of the government which includes orchardists also. He informed that under Prime Minister’s Package, Action Plan of Rs. 500 crore has been submitted to the Union Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer’s Welfare for rejuvenating damaged horticulture areas and development of horticulture in State, which shall be implemented in a phased manner.
