JAMMU: President of the National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Sunday urged the State Finance Minister to immediately pay interim relief at the rate of 20 per cent in favour of the employees of the State Government and pensioners.
Addressing a rally of NMC workers at Gandhi Nagar here, Shastri remarked that since there is a gap of nearly fourteen months for implementation of Seventh Pay Commission in the State, the State Government employees and pensioners should immediately be paid 20 per cent interim relief since there is very little chance of payment of DA installments to State Government employees and pensioners. “Since the State Government has started the process of regularisation of 61,000 daily rated workers in a phased manner, there is no room for any slackness on this account. The issue has been gathering dust for the last 24 years,” Shastri said.
Several resolutions were adopted in the rally which included creation of wage head in various departments of the State Government for regularly disbursement of monthly wages of daily rated workers, besides, release of all their pending wages, re organisation of Floriculture Department, enhances wages of daily rated workers at Central Government pattern, medical allowance increase to Rs 3,000 per month and technical grades in favour of gardeners of Floriculture Department etc. Among others who also spoke on the occasion were Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S Jamwal, Darshan Bawa, Tilak Raj, Jayanto Ram, Mohd Shafi, Surinder Kumar, Sham Lal Sharma, Sunil Kochhar, Suraj Parkash, Sukhdev Singh, Com.
