JAMMU: Accusing political parties in Jammu and Kashmir of indulging in horse-trading for forming government, JKNPP on Tuesday appealed to the Governor for calling off the talks with them and sought fresh elections in the State.
“This is the right time the Governor of the State should act within the meaning and scope of the Constitution to stop horse-trading among political parties in Jammu and Kashmir. The Governor should call off talks with political parties,” JKNPP Chief Bhim Singh said.
He said no single party in the State has won the mandate of the people of the State.
“The ruling party in the Centre even manipulated EVMs but still they could not win the mandate of the people,” he alleged.
He said while the people in the Valley voted for PDP and NC, voters in Jammu chose BJP.
“The manifesto of BJP is totally opposite to that of NC and PDP. The NC and PDP are working on the old Dixon Plan to divide the State on communal lines,” he alleged.
He said the only means to stop political blackmailing of the parties and the horse-trading is that the Assembly elections must be cancelled and fresh polls should be announced for the State.
Meanwhile, a two-member BJP delegation today met Jammu and Kashmir Governor N N Vohra to discuss government formation in the State and later said it would submit a formal proposal to him on 1st January 2015.
