POONCH: Intramural competitions were organised in the discipline of taekwondo, chess and carrom by the Government Middle School (GMS) Khorinar, here in under 14 age group for both boys and girls of the school. A total of 55 boys and girls took part in different games held under the supervision of Rajinder Singh Physical Education Teacher, Department of Youth Services and Sports here. Earlier, the event was declared open by I/C Headmaster Jatinder Sharma in the presence of all the staff members. Speaking on the occasion, he gave his best wishes to all the players. Later, Rajinder Singh said that these intramural competitions are organised in our school on the direction of DYSSO Poonch Mohd Qasim and ZPEO Poonch Narinder Singh.
The winner of these competitions will represent our school in inter school competitions held in the second week of May. Today’s results: Taekwondo Girls: Ruksana Akhter beat Parveen Akhter; Taniyana Koser beat Gulfam Koser; Nazma beat Gulshan Akhter. Boys: Mohd Irfan beat Mohd Rizwan; Mohd Sarfraz beat Musthaq Ahmed. Carrom: Mohd Irfan beat Waseem Khan. Chess: Maqsood Ahmed beat Mohd Rizwan
Prominent persons present were Naseem Akhter, Pardeep Kour, Gurwant Kour, Kulvinder Kour and Zaifait Ali all teachers.
