UDHAMPUR: Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Khoon lifted the volleyball title by defeating GHSS Boys Udhampur in straight two sets in the three-day District Level Inter School under-19 Tournament for boys and girls, which concluded at Sports Stadium, here on Friday.
A total of 434 students including 350 boys and 84 girls drawn from 22 different government as well as private institutions took part in the tournament.
The tournament was organised under the patronage of Sheikh Fayaz Ahmed, Director Youth Services and Sports, Srinagar and chairmanship of Sudesh Kumar Chalotra, District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO) Udhampur.
In the closing ceremony, DYSSO Udhampur, Sud-esh Kumar Chalotra was the Chief Guest who gave away prizes to the winners.

BOYS: Kho-Kho: GHSS Garhi defeated GHSS Boys Udhampur by 10 points.
Wrestling 45-48 Kg: Jeevan Kumar GHSS Garhi defeated Birbal Kumar of GHSS Krimachi; 49-52 Kg: Ravi Kumar GHSS Barolla beat Sunil Singh of GHSS Chanunta; 57-60 Kg: Govind Ram GHSS Garhi outplayed Gushu Kumar of GHSS Krimachi; 60-65 Kg: Shakeel Mohd. GHSS Tikri trounced Rajesh Verma of GHSS Chenani; 65-70 Kg: Sameer Khajuria Vijay HSS Udhampur defeated Saddam Husssain of GHSS Udh-ampur.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Kumar, Ravi Singh, Rakesh Sawhney, Naveen Sharma, Manik Nargotra, Rakesh Modi, Raj Kumar, Romesh Chander, Pushp Sharma, Raman Kumar, Bandana Sharma, Rishi Kumar Sharma, Pushpinder Kour, Vishoo Devi and Kamjeet Kour. Among others present were Ram Lal Badyal, Satish Kumar, Santosh Kumari, Sushma Rani, Santosh Abrol, Poonam Sharma, Jyoti Rani, Som Dev Khaj-uria, Jaswinder Singh, Swa-rndeep Singh Tara, Kamlesh Kumari, Des Raj Sharma and Karun Magotra.
