JAMMU: Government College for Women (GCW) Parade lifted the annual inter-college kabaddi title after they defeated the arch rivals in GCW Gandhi Nagar in a well contested game 31-27 in the final that took place at Gymnasium Hall on the campus, here on Thursday.
The title trophy presented to the winning Parade College team by Director Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu (JU), Prof Avtar Singh Jasrotia. Others present were Sumesh Sharma, Suman Lata, Ravish Vaid, Jai Bharat and Imran.
The title clash was officiated by the technical panel including Ajay Gupta, Anil Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Ankush Chib, Ankush Gupta, Vishal Jamwal, Keshav Singh, Amandeep Singh, Harpreet Singh, Raki Singh and Gagan Kumar.
VOLLEYBALL: Meanwhile, in inter-college women’s volleyball competition, GCW Parade shall take on GCW Gandhi Nagar in the final slated for tomorrow at JU grounds, here at 11:00 AM.
Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, GCW Parade beat Government Degree College (GDC) Samba in straight sets of 25-10, 26-24) while GCW Gandhi Nagar outplayed the combined side of PG Departments 2-1 (22-25, 26-24, 16-14).
The matches were officiated by the technical panel including Amit Sharma, Amarjeet Singh, Rakesh Jasrotia, Roshan Lal Sharma, Mulkh Raj Khajuria and Manmohan Sharma.
