Gaurav lauds LG, CS and Special DG BSF for extending Beating Retreat Ceremony to four days a week

JAMMU: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Jammu, has expressed his sincere appreciation to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo and Special Director General of BSF, Y.B Khurania for their decision to extend the Beating Retreat ceremony to four days a week at BOP Octroi Suchetgarh.
In a statement issued here today, Gaurav Gupta, who had been advocating for the Beating Retreat ceremony to be held for the full week, sees this extension as a positive step in the right direction. “This gesture is a step in the right direction and I hope that Beating Retreat ceremony will be a full week event in near future,” he added.
Gaurav had actively raised the issue of publicizing and promoting the Beating Retreat ceremony at Suchetgarh for a full week on several social media platforms. He believed that the extension of the ceremony will provide an opportunity for more individuals to witness and experience this grand spectacle, thereby potentially boosting the influx of tourists and the economy of the union territory.

He urged the government to take more similar initiatives to position Jammu as an independent tourism destination, stressing the importance of creating a comprehensive tourism infrastructure to cater to the diverse needs and preferences of visitors.
“Jammu has the potential to become a thriving tourism destination, and it is crucial for the government to actively support and promote such initiatives in the near future also,” he said, adding that the government should explore more avenues to make Jammu an independent tourism destination.
