Former Congress minister to contest as independent

SUCHETGARH : Senior Congress leader and former Minister Choudhary Gharu Ram in a startling development has resigned from the primary membership of the Congress Party on not getting party’s mandate for Suchetgarh Constituency and decided to fight the election as an Independent candidate.
In a meeting of Block Congress Committee held under its President Rawail Singh, the participants took strong notice of the decision taken by State President Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz and Ambica Soni incharge J and K affairs of the party for ignoring the popular leader and former Minister Choudhary Gharu Ram in giving ticket for the constituency.
All the office bearers and workers present in the meeting decided to resign from Congress Party and requested Gharu Ram to file his nomination papers as an independent candidate and assured him of their full support to secure victory. Prominent among those present in the meeting include Prem Chand Sarpanch, Raj Kumar General Secretary, Paras Ram Sarpanch, Chairman Jang Bahadur, Arjun Singh Sarpanch, Raj Kumar Sharma, Joginder Singh, Chairman Kissan Congress, Ch Sarwan Kumar, President Kissan Union, Rocky Kumar, Janak Raj sharma, Des Raj, Sat Pal Singh and Maharaj Sham Giri.
On the assurance of his team, Choudhary Gharu Ram submitted the resignation and decided to fight election as an independent candidate.
