The Uri attack and the recent surgical strikes have become table talk. The Uri attack was definitely maleficent and our quick retaliation was worth the eulogies it received. But Prime Minister Modi must shift from developing a hawkish foreign policy to improved trade policies. A nation’s defence and trade are vital for economic growth. How will the government escalate the defence budget without improving the country’s trade? It is only when India’s exports will surpass the imports that the government will achieve the much-coveted economic growth.
