Srinagar: As the water recedes from many parts of Srinagar city, the roadside sight is very pathetic.  Heaps of garbage is lying unattended in various parts of city, much to the embarrassment of the administration.

The claim made by government on Monday to have three teams led by senior officers fell flat as there is no sign of managing the garbage and dead cattle. The only visible change in few pockets were policemen roaming around and busy in moving vendors from the streets.
Though the signs of normalcy are evident as people have started to move around in a limited areas, but at many places traffic is choked. Vehicles were stranded at the main link to other side of Srinagar.
The waste around makes movement difficult as it is stinking now with stray dogs and mosquitoes hovering around.  A doctor who was present in local relief camp at Haiderpora  said that if the steps are not taken immediately, this would be disastrous, ‘even more than what flood did.’
