FLC of EVM’s begins at Baramulla

BARAMULLA: The First level Check (FLC) of Electronic Voting Machines, (EVM’s) was started in presence of representatives of political parties at Baramulla on Friday.
Nodal officer for Elections, Baramulla, Shuaib Mohammad Naikoo briefed the political parties about the features and operations of latest Model of EVM’s to be used in the Assembly Elections-2014 on the occasion. The officer informed that the FLC of these EVM’s will continue up to 5th November 2014 during which 1,749 ballot units (BU) and 1289 Control Units (CU) are properly checked by the Engineers deputed by Election Commission of India.
These machines are being brought in use during the forth-coming Assembly Elections in Baramulla District. Out of these Machines, 25 are being kept for imparting training to the Poll staff and other related people. He said that CCTV’s are in place to monitor the FLC process. He further said that the first randomization will be conducted after the FLC of these Electronic Voting Machines (EVM’s) is completed.
All political parties have been informed to keep their agents available at EVM strong room during whole process of FLC.
