UDHAMPUR: A monthly meeting of All J and K ReT Teachers Forum on Sunday was held at Udhampur under the chairmanship of State President Vinod Sharma and Distt. President Lekh Raj Parihar. The meeting was attended by the Distt. Executive Members and Zonal Presidents.
While speaking on the occasion Vinod Sharma on behalf of All J and K ReT Teachers Forum showed his strong resentment against the failure of Finance Minister to fulfill his announcement on the floor of the house during budget session regarding delinking of SSA salary and getting it streamlined from April 2017, but the fact is that SSA teachers in the State are without salary for last 5 to 6 months and are on the verge of starvation.
He said the families of these teachers are living miserable lives. He said Finance Minister H.A. Drabu on the floor of the House announced to delink SSA salary and promised releasing the same from April 2017 onwards monthly basis and even Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti endorsed his statement of delinking the SSA salary in her speech in public meetings but it seems that the Govt. has forgotten that they have to pay the salaries of thousands of SSA teachers who are finding it very much difficult to make their both ends.
He further said that Education Minister also assured us that SSA salaries will be streamlined before 30th of April 2017, but even after getting Rs 203 crore from Centre only one month salary has been released recently and more than Rs 100 crores are still unspent balance in SPD’s account where as teachers are suffering for the same badly.
He urged the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to personally intervene in this matter and come to the rescue of thousands of SSA teachers of the State who are loosing their patience day by day.
Meanwhile Executive Body of the ReT Forum appealed to the Govt. to release their all pending salaries within a short span of time, otherwise they would be left with no other option than to lock their schools and hold protests at Distt. Headquarters and State level and for this extreme step the Govt. would be responsible.
Others who also spoke on the occasion were Sukhdev Singh Sumbria, Sukesh Khajuria, Sham Sharma, Ashok Seth, Pritam Goswami, Chain Singh, Bhushan Khajuria, Ravinder Singh, Parmod Sharma, Balbinder Singh, Shamsher Singh, Sandeep Sharma, Sushil Singh and Anil Sharma.
