Factory worker held for theft, Rs 1.88 lakh recovered

JAMMU: Police on Thursday arrested an employee of a factory and recovered over
Rs. 1.88 lakh and a mobile phone from his possession.
According to report, one Onkar Singh, Manager Dairy India Industries Gangyal filed an complaint regarding a theft in the factory premises claiming that cash, cell phone and other items have been stolen after breaking the Almirah placed in the office.
On receipt of this information, a case vide FIR No. 75 under sections 457 and 380 was registered at Police Station Gangyal. During investigation, one Sunny Raina, son of Vinod Krishan Raina, resident of Thokrie District Kishtwar who is an employee of the aforesaid factory was put to thorough questioning. Consequently, the suspect broke down and the stolen cash worth over Rs. 1.88 along with a mobile phone and other articles were recovered from his possession. The instruments used for committing the offence including a screw driver, wire cutter and blade were also recovered. Subsequently, the accused was arrested and further investigation was started. The arrest was made by Inspector Aejaz Wani under the supervision of SDPO South Sachin Gupta and SP South Shehzad Salaria.
