Excise Deptt destroys 1,050 Kg Lahan

KATHUA: The Excise Department Kathua on Wednesday recovered 1,050 Kg of Lahan and six bottles of illicit liquor while conducted raids at RS Pura and Kathua District.
On the directions of Excise Commissioner, Mohammad Javed Khan and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the excise team led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta along with Inspector Excise Arun Kumar conducted raids at Jaraie, Tarf Sanji and Chhiba Chak areas of Kathua district to check the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process more than 700 kilograms of Lahan was recovered by the raiding team from State land and later destroyed on the spot.
Similarly, the excise team led by ETO City Excise Range assisted by Inspector Ritesh Gupta and Sub Inspector Parshant Mathur conducted a series of raids in Bishnah and RS Pura Excise Ranges at Village Deoli, Makhanpur, Kotli Mian Fateh, Salehar, Dablehar, Tarachak, Rattian, Phinder, Kirpind Devigarh and Nikowal.
During the course of raids, about 350 Kilograms of Lahan and six bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan were recovered by the raiding team from the State land. The recovered Lahan were destroyed by the excise team.
