Excise Deptt conducts raids at Brick Kilns, destroys 150 litres Lahan

BUDGAM: Under the directions of Excise Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Sharma and the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner, Executive, Kashmir, Tazayun Mukhtar, raids were conducted on Thursday at Brick Kilns of Nowbug, Chadoora, Budgam. The raids were led by Excise and Taxation Officer, Central Kashmir, and accompanied by Range Inspectors of three Districts and other field officials, after complaint of manufacture of illicit liquor in the area. During raids, 150 litres of Lahan, 2 litres of illicit liquor and 20 kgs of Gur were found in isolated areas. The consignment was destroyed instantly and temporary structures were frisked in the area for any more recoveries. The shopkeepers and Brick kiln owners were warned to desist from procurement of Gur used for manufacturing of Lahan.
