ETT Scam: Crime Branch presents fourth charge-sheet

JAMMU: Crime Branch Jammu on Monday presented fourth Challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu against Dr. Shiekh Bashir Ahmed, son of Miyan Mohd. Sultan, resident of village Pahilipora Safapora, Ganderbal, the then Director Academics and Secretary BOSE, Deep Singh, son of late Himat Singh, resident of Gole, Tehsil and District Jammu, promoter of Giani Lal Singh (GLS) ETT Institute, Amar Colony, Gole Gujral, Jammu, Gurwinder Singh, son of Jarnail Singh, resident of H. No. 101/7, Nanak Nagar, Jammu, promoter of Bachpan Playway ETT Institute, Satwari, Jammu, Harbans Singh, son of Bishan Singh residents of Kunjwani Talab, Jammu, Guru Nanak ETT Institute, Jalo Chak, Jammu, and Surjeet Singh Jamwal, son of Vidya Sagar Singh resident of Ward No. 10, Kathua promoter of Surya ETT and Research Institute at Kathua whereas one of the accused Manju Gupta has died.
DySP Crime Branch Rafiq Manhas presented the Challan comprising 265 pages and in the Challan Crime Branch Jammu also recommended departmental action against two trustees of “Peer Panchal Educational Trust” namely Garpal Singh, son of Late Hakam Singh and Narinder Kour, wife of Gurpal Singh both residents of Ajit Nagar, Jammu, who remained associated with the affairs of the Trust being the Government employees.
Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu Sanjeev Gupta after going through the Challan fixed 6th September 2016 for arguments on charge/ discharge.
SSP Crime Branch Jammu Mubassir Latifi said that the investigation of the case is being carried out year-wise / session-wise, as the promoters and the Board officers involved in the first four academic sessions have been charge-sheeted. However, in the coming days more people involved would be arrested and charge-sheeted in the Court of law.
