REASI : As a part of mega cleanliness drive ‘Clean and Green Reasi’, Reasi Sangarsh Samiti on Wednesday organised several events including a cleanness drive and a rally.
The rally was flagged off by the Deputy Commissioner Reasi Shabir Ahmad Bhatt. Students took out the rally from Nai Basti ground to Old Bazaar, Chowak Chbutra, Main Bazaar, Bus Stand and then back to Nai Basti ground.
Addressing the participants DC said, “We are giving specific thrust for environmental activities above all other developmental activities. We have a dire need for mass tree plantation programme and environmental awareness to increase the depleting the ground water table, changing climatic condition, chronic monsoon failure, air and water pollution, etc. This rally will act as a platform to raise that kind of awareness and make the common public conscious of the impending problems and how we can address them.”
On the way, the participants cleaned the streets, roads, installed dust bins at various locations and distributed pamphlets among the public to create awareness about the need of neat and clean environment.
The participants were carrying placards highlighting slogans like ‘Keep your city clean and green’, ‘Think Green and Live Green’, ‘Plant More and More Trees’ and ‘Save Environment Save Earth’. The rally was very successful as the students spread the message among the community with great sense of responsibility.
The staff members of the school also participated enthusiastically in this campaign in spreading the awareness regarding pollution free environment.
