KISHTWAR: To create mass awareness among the youth regarding various self employment schemes and to encourage the educated unemployed youth for taking benefits of various self employment initiatives of different government departments as well as banking institutions, the District Employment and Counselling Centre, Kishtwar organised a employment fair at Govt. HSS Sarthal, Kishtwar in which the Departments of Industries, Horticulture, Agriculture, Health, Animal husbandry, Sheep husbandry,SC, ST Dev Corp,Social Welfare, ICDS, Sericulture, Handicrafts, Handloom Dev Deptt, Fisheries , Lead Bank, J&K Bank and other institutions installed their stalls.
The Asst Director Employment Kishtwar,Mohd. Ashraf Wani and other officers went through all the stalls and took stock of various employment schemes of different departments.
Thousands of people including women, educated youth and business persons participated in the fair. Speaking on the occasion, Wani highlighted the importance of self employment schemes and called upon people to take benefits of these schemes as the avenues in the government sector are limited. He said that the initiatives under SKEWPY and JKSES have shown good results in the state and a large number of youth have created viable income generating units in which other people also getting employment. Hence more and more young entrepreneurs should come forward and play their vital role in the development of state.
The district officers and other experts from various departments gave elaborate presentations and guided the youth regarding their respective self employment initiatives . Besides this the DECC Kishtwar also held on the spot registration of unemployed youth for JKSES, SKEWPY seed capital scheme and VSA. They asked the youth to explore the local innovative avenues of employment rather than beating the same track. A colourful cultural programme was alsp organised in the fair.
Wani thanked all the participants for making this programme a huge success and assured them that more such programmes will be organised in this remote area for the benefit of general masses in future.
