Elections of wine traders stayed

JAMMU: In a suit filed by the members of Jammu Wine Traders Association, Municipal Magistrate Jammu Manoj Parihar, on Thursday directed to maintain status quo with regard to holding of elections of Jammu Wine Traders Association to be held on November 5, 2017.
The members of the Association have challenged the issuance of the Election Notice for elections of Jammu Wine Traders Association in a civil suit questioning the notice for election as flawed and under no provision of the Memorandum of Association. The members further alleged in the suit that the term of the last President of the Association has expired since May 2016 and thereafter fresh elections have not been held and the members of the Association have constituted an eleven members committee to manage the affairs of the Association who are presently looking after the affairs of the Association.
The Court after hearing Vishal Sharma Advocate for the plaintiffs, directed to maintain status quo with regard to the elections of the Association scheduled to be held on November 5, 2017.
