Election Nodal Officers’ meetings held

GANDERBAL: The District Election Officer (DEO) Ganderbal S. Hafeez on Monday chaired a meeting of Nodal Officers (NOs) of the district to oversee the preparedness for forthcoming Assembly elections.
Various matters pertaining to Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) phase two were discussed which consists of trainings and workshops regarding participation of maximum eligible electors in the electoral process.
The DEO issued strict instructions for implementation of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) to ensure free and fair polls in a transparent manner in the district.
He instructed the officers to ensure that various guidelines issued by the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer J and K are followed in letter and spirit.
BARAMULLA: A meeting of Booth Level Officer (BLO) was held under the chairmanship of District Election Officer, Baramulla, Dr. Farooq Ahmad Lone today.
The meeting was attended by Electoral Registration Officer, Baramulla, concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates, Tehsildars, Naib Tehsildars and Booth Level Officers.
The DEO directed the concerned Tehsildars to ensure furnishing of electoral rolls to all the BLOs within next two days. He said that there is no need of shifting any polling stations to any other place in the district as all the stations are established at proper places.
Earlier, the DEO convened a meeting of political parties and enjoined upon them to ensure implementation of Model Code of Conduct in letter and spirit. He also stressed the political representatives present in the meeting to keep election expenditure within the limits as per the guidelines of Election Commission of India (ECI).
BANDIPORA: A meeting of various officers was held under chairmanship of District Election Officer, Bandipora, Dr. Shah Faisal here on Wednesday.
The District Election Officer emphasised upon officers to conduct verification of all polling stations so that basic facilities are put in place well before the day of poll.
He enjoined upon the officers not to leave the station and no official should be transferred till the election process is over.
He asked them to be impartial and neutral in poll related duties, so that the poll process will be free, fair and transparent.
“No officer should favour or disfavor any political party’’, he cautioned.
District Election Officer, Bandipora informed that the Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of 10-Bandipora and 11-Sumbal Sonawari constituencies to attend election relating meeting at DC Office Bandipora on 28th October, 2014 at 10:00 AM.
