Bhaderwah: In a tragic fire incident property worth crores turned into ashes after mysterious fire broke out in residential area Green Colony of Chinote locality in Additional District Bhaderwah on Thursday early morning. Meanwhile locals immediately reached the spot and started dousing operation.
According to reports, a fire broke out at Green Colony area of Chinote locality in Bhaderwah. The fire was quickly spreading to neighbouring houses
After getting information, Police, Army CRPF and locals immediately rushed to the site and began extinguishing fire with all the available equipment. Later Fire Tenders also reached the spot but till then the fire was engulfed 7-8 houses, Mill and a Hotel. Meanwhile SDRF teams also reached the spot and help the authorities to control the fire.
DC Doda Harvinder Singh, SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom, CO 4 RR Col Yogesh Chouhan, ADC Bhaderwah Dilmir Chowdhary and others also reached the spot.
There was no loss of life owing to quick action by the Army, Police and locals.
Locals expressed their resentment over the administration, fire Tenders for not reaching on time.
Locals also said that the fire spreaded to other structures due to negligence and callous attitude of fire tenders.
SP Headquarters Doda Shakeel Ahmed said that the fire broke out in the Chinote locality of Bhaderwah town in the wee hours today. He said that soon after the incident, fire tenders rushed to the spot; however, about 8-9 residential houses, a guest house, a food point were reduced to ashes by the time they reached.
SSP Doda Abdul Qayoom said that police have started an investigation into the matter, but as per a preliminary probe, a short circuit seems to be the reason behind the fire
Sarpanch Chinote Khalid Mughal demanded inquiry into the matter and also demanded adequate compensation to the fire victims at the earliest.
Meanwhile Ghulam Nabi Azad said that I am sad to hear that massive blazes have gutted 8 residential houses & many business establishments to ground rendered scores of people home less while many more have lost their livelihood in Bhaderwah.
“The worst part was that the fire Tender was summoned to the spot to douse flames didn’t work aggravating the situation further. It was a sheer failure of administration. I urge LG Manoj Sinha ji to provide adequate compensation to the fire victim families besides to direct an investigation to ascertain the facts and causes that led to this massive fire and subsequent failure of the fire and emergency services department, ” Azad added.
DDC Vice Chairperson Doda Sangeeta Bhagat also expressed resentment over the huge loss of property in massive fire incident at Chinote area of Bhaderwah.
She also demanded immediate relief to the fire victim families and speed up their rehabilitation.
