Educational institutions to remain closed till Sept 20

BUDGAM: District Development Commissioner Budgam convened a meeting with officers to review the relief and restoration works in the district.
DDC informed that out of 557 villages of district 100 villages of Tehsil Magam, Narbal, Berwal and B.K. Pora have been affected. He said that timely measures prevented damages to loss of lives and property in the district however flood water largely affected crops, paddy field at Magam and Narbal. It was informed that about 17 bridges were partially damaged in flood. Relief distribution to flood affected and evacuated people is in full swing and about 50 trucks of food grains have been distributed.
DDC has ordered all the departments to spare their staff to mobilise the manpower to cope up with the urgency.
He has also ordered the closure of all the educational institutions in the district till 20th September, 2014. However, all the teachers and allied staff will remain present at the institutions.
DDC has warned all the employees to remain present in their concerned offices and any dereliction in duty will be dealt strictly under law. He said daily monitoring of attendance will done.
