JAMMU: Various educational institutions celebrated International Labour Day to pay respect to Labour class.

Army Public School (APS) Akhnoor celebrated Labour Day in the morning assembly. Principal, K.C.S Mehta highlighted the value of supportive staff and importance of the day.
A colourful cultural programme was presented by the students for supportive staff. The main highlight of this day was students taking the responsibility of supportive staff and presented them cards and gifts. Gifts from management side were also given to the supportive staff. Chairman of School, Brig Goutam Segan sent his best wishes to the supportive staff.
Stephens International Public School celebrated Labour Day. The celebration started with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work.
The students with their rhythmic steps magnificently showcased their dancing skills.
Workers also participated in musical chair and tug of war events. School Principal, Manoj Agnihotri congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. School Director, Satvinder Saini appreciated the priceless contribution of the workers for the smooth functioning of the institution. Others present on the occasion were Vice-Chairperson, Amarjeet Singh and Dean Academics, Rama Jamwal. The programme was organised by the Headmistress Inderjeet Kour.
Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua celebrated International Labour Day. A special talk was given by Principal, Shuchita Gupta who enlightened the students about the importance and relevance of the day. Students presented gifts to the staff and also served sweets and cold drink.
Workers also expressed their gratitude towards the school management, teachers and students for their endeavour. Principal congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services. She also motivated all the students to always give respect to the drivers, helpers and menial staff as they are the backbone of the school.
Doon International School organised a special programme to celebrate International Labour Day.
The celebration began with a group song, followed by the speech extending gratitude towards the helpers, nannies and drivers. The purpose was to make the students aware of the dignity of the labour and the importance of every member’s contribution in the growth of an institution. The helpers expressed their views and extended their heartfelt thanks to the management for recognising their effort.
The Chairman, G.N Tantray extended his best wishes to the helping staff and appreciated their whole hearted effort.
The Principal Vikesh Kaur conveyed her heartfelt gratitude to the entire extended staff for making their meaningful presence felt throughout the day.
The Vice Principal and the Headmistress of the school felicitated the helping staff appreciating their unconditional support.
MV International School celebrated International Labour Day on the theme ‘Salaam Majdoor’. The function started with a speech welcoming the workers and highlighted the need, importance and significance of their role in the life. A sports event was organised for fourth class employees of school which included drivers, conductors, peons, maids, security guards, importance of workers in our day to day life.
Hira Lal Abrol, Chairman MVIS distributed gifts as token of appreciation and honoured the workers. K.L Dogra Principal MVIS acknowledged the hard work of the workers.
RM Public School celebrated Labour Day wherein all the teachers of standard 1st and 2nd organized a lunch for the menial staff members of the school.
The programme was held under the supervision of Coordinators of standard 1st and 2nd Neha Rajput and Anjana Jamwal and Incharge of the building-A Suman Lata.
Trustee of RM Public School, Rita Mengi and Principal, Ravinder Kour offered lunch among the menial staff. They had been appreciated for their hard work.
‘No work is big or small’. It was with this theme that Labour Day was celebrated in Heritage School. The entire staff and students came together with great enthusiasm for a special assembly dedicated to the diligent workers of the school. Special prayer songs were sung by primary students to acknowledge the efforts of the hardworking support staff of the school. The principal urged all to have an attitude of gratitude and praised the discipline and dedication of the multitasking staff. He extended his greetings to all support staff, drivers, conductors, helpers who contribute day in and day out for the smooth functioning of the school processes.
‘Musical Chair’ event was organised by the council members for the MTS which was cheered by all students and staff.
May Day was celebrated at Delhi Public School Udhampur. The function started with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work. Lighting of lamp by the management, principal and workers marked the beginning of the programme followed by skit, songs and dances performed by the children. The Pro-Vice Chairman of the School, Dr. J.C Gupta congratulated the workers and thanked them for their selfless services.
He lauded the timeless efforts of the work force in keeping the school safe, neat and clean at all times.
He also distributed the gifts amongst the workers as a token of love.
The Principal, Dr. Kunal Anand said that the students must learn to respect this invaluable section of society whose contribution in our life is immense.
Jammu Sanskriti School, Jammu celebrated Labour Day to make menial staff feel mirthful and jubilant.
The celebrations began with special assembly in which students expressed their gratitude towards employees for taking care of their classes, belongings and for maintaining cleanliness.
Students of classes 5th and 6th were educated by the teachers about the struggle and tedious job labourors do and also apprised about the reason behind celebrating this day.
This was followed by JAM of classes 7th n 8th in which the students articulated their speculation about this day.
Not only this, little Sanskritians and Pre-Primary Wing did colouring activity on ‘Labour Day’ and thanked all the maids who take care of them.
Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima commended and adulated class IV employees with gifts and stated that we should respect and acquiesce their meticulous work and make children appreciate the value of dignity of labour and instill the same in them.
