Educational institutions celebrate Children’s Day, Gurpurab

JAMMU: To mark the birth anniversary of first Prime Minister of India Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and first Sikh Guru, Guru Nanak Dev Ji, educational institutions celebrated Children’s Day and Gurpurab respectively at Jammu on Monday.
The Stephens International Public School, Miran Sahib, celebrated the Gurpurab with great zeal and fervour. The celebration began with the enlightened thought of Guru Nanak Dev, highlighting the message of brotherhood mankind as a tribute to the Great Guru. Shabad Kirtan, chanting hymns and Prabhat Pheri were the main attractions of the day.
BSF School Jammu celebrated Children’s Day with fervour and gusto to aware the people towards the rights and education of children in the school campus.
Celebrations began with the floral tribute paid to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. Principal, Dr S.K Shukla alongwith the staff and children paid floral tribute to Pt. Nehru who worked for the well being and education of children.
Teachers of the school delivered speeches highlighting importance of day. Various events were organized such as Mehandi Designing, Rangoli, Salad Making and sports activities. Principal gave prizes to students who had excelled in different events. Raman House was adjudged as winner of sports activity.
Rich Harvest School, Shastri Nagar celebrated Gurpurab. Highlights of the event were tiny toddlers dressed as Panj Pyara and recited Shabad. Children were made aware of the teachings of Guru Nanak DevJi by Tanvi Manhotra. Prasad was distributed amongst the children.
SM Shishu Niketan Higher Secondary School, Anand Nagar, Bohri celebrated Children’s Day and Gurpurab with fervour in the presence of Managing Director Parneesh Mahajan, Liaison Officer Harvinder Sihotra, Principal Manikarnika Bhasin, Coordinator Sonika Jain and staff.
A special assembly was conducted and demonstration was given to the students regarding Children’s Day and Gurpurab. Speech, recitation as well as drawing competition were also held.
Managing Director threw light on the life of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru by saying that he had great love, passion and admiration for children.
He advised the students to be patriotic and follow the footsteps of Pandit Nehru and Guru Nanak Dev Ji. He inspired them to deeds of bravery and sacrifice for the sake of their motherland.
KIDZEE, a pre-school of ZEE Learn Limited celebrated Children’s Day and Gurupurab at its Anand Nagar Bohri, Gandhi Nagar, Channi Himmat and Talab Tillo branches with fervour and enthusiasm.
Kids were dressed up in Chacha Nehru and Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s costume depicting their characters.
Demonstration was also given to the toddlers regarding the life of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru. In the end, sweets were distributed among the students.
RM Public School celebrated Gurpurab and Children’s Day with great zest and zeal. The Trustee of RM Public School, Reeta Mengi was the Chief Guest. The programmed was started with the Shabad presented by the students of Primary and the Middle Wing. The students of 7th and 8th class delivered the speech on the importance of Gurpurab. Preprimary students presented the cultural programme. The programme was ended with vote of thanks by the Principal, RM Public School, Ravinder Kour who enlightened the importance of Gurus in our life.
