JAMMU: Part of the ongoing selection process for Jammu district teams in different disciplines, the Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) on Monday organised Badminton event for girls at Government Boys High School Jammu Cantonment, here.
Earlier, the District Officer (DYSS), Sukhdev Raj Sharma, interacted with the participants in the presence of Organising Secretary, Satvinder Kour, ZPEO Satwari.
The winners of three age groups of under-14, under-17 and under-19 shall form the Jammu district team for the upcoming J&K level inter-district tournaments.
The Results: UNDER-14: Aanjali Devi of GGHS Sohanjana beat Sanaiya Devi of GMS Hakkal in final. Semifinals: Anjali beat Tina of GHS Sher Garh and Saniya Devi beat Sonia of GMS Kullian. UNDER-17: In under-17 age group, Tanu Bhagat of GHS Sher Garh emerged winner outplaying Janvi Chib of GHS Akalpur. Semifinals: Tanu Bhagat beat Tannu Devi of GHS Akalpur and Janvi beat Tania of GHS Jindrah. UNDER-19: Palak Sharma of GHSS Jindrah beat Arti of GHSS Bhour Camp in final. Semifinals: Palak beat Kum Kum Sharma of GHSS Satwari and Arti beat Anamika of GHSS Jindrah.
