JAMMU: Expressing concern over the delay in removal of barriers in front of Civil Secretariat, Jammu, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) criticised the callous attitude of State Government for not showing its serious concern towards their demand despite repeated appeals to the government.
In the meeting held here on Thursday under the chairmanship of DSS President, Th Gulchain Singh Charak, the participants recalled that their delegations meeting the Speaker, Kavinder Gupta and the Dy Chief Minister, Nirmal Singh last year when the Darbar moved to the Winter Capital. They noted with concern that in spite of the clear cut assurances given by both the leaders, no formal order has so far been issued to keep the road in front of the New Secretariat Jammu, open for traffic even after the Darbar starts functioning here in Jammu. It was also decided that the DSS delegations will again meet both these leaders shortly and before the Darbar moves in.
Charak cautioned that the public is keenly watching the attitude of the local leaders in the government who will decidedly be held responsible for ignoring the aspirations of Jammu people and will be made to pay for it in the next elections, if they do not work for and support the causes of the people who have voted them to power.
The members also approved the design for the new DSS logo to be adopted in the General Body meeting which was decided to be held in the last week of November and for which DSS members from the international community were also expected to attend.
Dr N.K Dogra, Col Karan Singh Jamwal (Retd), Prem Sagar Gupta, Ghulam Ahmed Khawaja (DC Retd), Janak Khajuria, Brig M.S Jamwal (Retd), Col Dr Virender Kumar Sahi VrC, Gambhir Dev Singh Charak, Syed Amanat Ali Shah, Chhankar Singh, Ravi Singh Slathia, Santosh Magotra, Pardeep Mahajan and Dr Raghubir Singh were also present.
