Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal takes stock of relief, rehabilitation measures

SRINAGAR: To take stock of the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people in district Srinagar, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Rohit Kansal conducted an extensive tour of flood affected areas of Srinagar district including Raj Bagh, Zero Bridge, Jawhar Nagar, Ram Bagh, Barzulla, Bagat, Haft Chinar, Magarmal Bagh, Jehangir Chowk besides other adjoining areas today.
Kansal exhorted upon the officers to work in close coordination and synergy to ensure timely completion of ongoing rehabilitation works for providing succour to the flood affected families.
Div Com was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Chief Engineers of PDD, PWD, PHE and Flood Control besides S.P Traffic and other concerned officers.
Kansal enjoined upon the Commissioner, Srinagar Municipal Corporation to augment the infrastructure for the dewatering pump installed at Raj Bagh to ensure proper dewatering process. He also asked for upgradation of 10 Megawatt Receiving Station at Jawahar Nagar which was affected during recent floods.
Div Com during the inspection of Chanapora Flood Channel asked the concerned officers to remove the illegal encroachments on the banks of flood channel. He also inspected the shopping complex at Ram Bagh and took stock of the ongoing construction work of the flyover.
Div Com stressed for smooth plying of traffic and directed the traffic authorities for necessary measures.
