Div Com takes stock of GMC, associated hospitals functioning

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Shantmanu on Friday reviewed functioning of Government Medical College Jammu and associated hospitals at a meeting with Principal GMC and Medical Superintendents of various hospitals in view of increase in rush of patients admitted in emergency and other wards during the border cross firing in border areas of Hiranagar, Samba, Ramgarh, RS Pura, Arnia, Kanachak and Pargwal.
Medical superintendents of Hospitals apprised the Divisional Commissioner about the medicare being provided to the patients and their attendants. It was decided that the patients and attendants who are discharged from the hospital and are reluctant to go back to their homes in view of cross border firing have been asked to stay in the ground floor and first floor of Attendant Sarai.
It was apprised that a patient namely Om Prakash son of Nand Lal of Arnia who was critically injured in border firing admitted in the Hospital was on ventilator is now stable.
The issue with regard to adequate supply of medicine and shortage of LDO was also discussed to which Divisional Commissioner assured for providing assistance out of SDRF for which a detailed proposal shall be furnished by the Medical Superintendents of the respective hospitals.
Regarding recent damage which occurred in hospitals due to inclement rains, Divisional Commissioner instructed the Executive Engineer PWD (R&B) to take up the repair/renovation works on war footing. Executive Engineer (Mech), Hospital and Central Heating Division, GMCH, Jammu was directed to furnish a detailed proposal through Chief Engineer MED Jammu with regard to damage of Servo Transformers due to constant rains which are being used to provide constant voltage to various AHU’s installed in emergency wing of GMC.
Divisional Commissioner along-with Principal GMC and other senior staff took a round of the Hospital and enquired about the condition of cross border firing victims admitted in the hospital.
