JAMMU: In view of huge traffic pressure/congestion witnessed at Satwari Chowk, Pawan Kotwal, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu along with other officers viz Rohit Baskotra, SSP Traffic City, Jammu, Rakesh Kumar from Cantonment Board, Jammu, representative from BSNL, Jammu, Sudir Sharma, SE, PWD, Jammu , Sudhir Gupta, XEn, PDD Jammu visited the spot to sort out remedial measures in order to decongest Satwari Chowk being the most vulnerable area from security point of view and leading road towards Airport Jammu.
Divisional Commissioner, Jammu issued on spot directions to the BSNL, PWD and Cantonment Board officers to immediately shift electric and BSNL poles to some other locations so that free service lanes can be created from Kunjwani to Airport and Airport to Phallian Mandal side.
Kotwal along with team also visited Old Raipur Satwari Road and issued directions on spot to concerned departments to submit the proposal for construction of Pulli on the river to decongest huge traffic volume coming from Phallian Mandal to adjoining areas.
