District level Volleyball Championship for girls;GHS Ramnagar defeats Bhartiya College Udhampur

UDHAMPUR: Government High School (GHS) Ramnagar defeated Bhartiya College Udhampur by 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 29-09) and won girls title in the District level Volleyball Championship for girls which commenced at BB Shanti Vidyapeeth ground, here on Thursday.
The tournament is being organised by Volleyball Association of District Udhampur under the aegis of Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir and sponsored by Jammu and Kashmir State Sports Council.
Earlier, both the teams were introduced to the Special Guest, Sudesh Kumar, District Youth Services and Sports Officer Udhampur and Didi Chinmay Jyoti and S.K Gandotra, Principal by Raj Guru, President of Volleyball Association of district Udhampur.
In other matches played today, Bhartiya College Udhampur beat BBSVPeeth 2-0 (25-13, 25-13); Government Higher Secondary School Udhampur defeated Bawra Volleyball Club 2-0 (25-13, 25-17); Ramnagar outplayed GHS Udhampur 2-0 (25-10, 25-06);
All the matches were officiated by Kuldip Sharma, Sorabh Pandit, Vipin Photra, Rajesh Sharma and Ashok Kumar.
Prominent persons among others present were Roshal Lal, Ashwani Sharma, Ravi Singh, Ashok Koul, Surinder Gupta and Shashi Sharma.
According to organisers, prizes for girls section shall be distributed in the closing ceremony tomorrow at Mini Stadium Udhampur by Deputy Commissioner Udhampur.
