Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, who is known to be a very seasoned politician accosted about the separate cadre that is to be honed for Kashmir Police Service (KPS) on the same pattern as of KAS. The question here arises is that why only KPS or KAS? Why not JKPS and JKAS? Why only the name of Kashmir is being reflected in the police, administrative services, central leadership and in the world and not of Jammu Kashmir? Although the scholars and renowned persons of Jammu are also a part of KAS and KPS but still word Kashmir has been given more priority by the successive regimes. The injustice with Jammu is unmentionable. It is seen in most of the cases that Kashmir has been given more importance whereas Jammu always remains underprivileged. When Jammuites show mild annoyance against the injustice , they are either locked up in jail or beaten harshly by the forces. But it is not so in Kashmir. In Kashmir whenever people protest, their demands are not only heard but also fulfilled at an earliest. Also whenever a strike is called on by the Kashmiris, the stone pelters throw stones on the buses of pilgrims, on army and paramilitary forces .These forces turn out to be helpless at that very time due to constraint. Is this the justice? Sometimes it feels as if Jammu is de tropped. Although our Chief Minister is a muse for everyone but the important announcements made on the word “K” by her in the floor of assembly is unacceptable. Moreover, it is a matter of great astonishment that the BJP, the coalition partner and voice of Jammu remains a mute spectator on the issue and does not utter a single word on the cadre announcement by the chief minister. It is a million dollar question on the part of BJP in coalition whether it can amend the cadre of KAS and recently announced KPS by the Chief Minister as JKAS and JKPS or will keep mum for the sake of their chair!
