DEO Srinagar asks for strict adherence to MCC

SRINAGAR: On the last day of withdrawal of nominations for the fourth phase of election process for J and K Legislative Assembly, the DEO, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah on Saturday held an interactive session with the representatives of all political parties contesting elections from eight Assembly Constituencies of Srinagar District including Hazratbal, Zadibal, Eidgah, Khanyar, Habakadal, Amirakadal, Sonawar and Batamaloo.
The General Observers, Expenditure Observers and Police Observer for Srinagar district besides SSP Srinagar, Returning Officers and Assistant Returning officers of all eight Assembly Constituencies were also present on the occasion.
Discussions were held regarding the better participation of electorates in the Assembly elections of Srinagar district besides the contesting candidates were asked strictly adhere to the guideline of Election Commission of India.
The Observers on the occasion, asked for maintaining the expenditure registers besides abiding by the MCC guidelines.
The DEO also impressed upon all contesting candidates and representatives of various political parties present on the occasion to ensure smooth, free and fair elections in all the eight Assembly constituencies of the district besides ensuring massive turn out on the day of poll in the district.
