DDC urges officers to prepare relief cases on war footing
RAMBAN: A high level meeting was today convened by the District Development Commissioner Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari in his office chambers for reviewing the assessment of loss inflicted due to the recent incessant rains followed by floods in the district. SDM Banihal , SDM Ramsoo, ACR, Tehsildars and Naib Tehsildars of the district participated in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that the newly created administrative units shall formally start functioning w.e.f 18th September and administrative heads were urged to put their men and other resources vibrantly for assessment of losses both living as well as other property losses.
The participants were apprised to report the cases after verifying them one by one personally in respect of total number of villages, households, souls, death and injury, roads, bridges, water supply schemes and all other private and public property.
The meeting was further informed that as per Government of Jammu and Kashmir order six months free ration has to be provided to all those families who have been affected in the recent flood in the district and the officers were directed to ensure the same on war footing basis.
Later DDC met Brigadier 11 RR Chanderkote and an NGO regarding the relief and rehabilitation of those families whose houses were completely damaged during the recent natural calamity in the district. DDC assured them of full support from his office where ever any initiative has to be taken for relief and rehabilitation of those who were affected in the floods.
