DDC reviews performance of banks
RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari on Thursday reviewed the performance of the banks here at District Level Review Committee meeting.
The achievements against the set targets for the quarter ending 30th June 2014 under Annual Credit Action Plan 2014-15 were discussed and reviewed threadbare.
The Chief Planning Officer, Assistant Commissioner Development, Assistant Director Handicrafts, Assistant Director Employment, Tehsildar Ramban, BDOs, Lead Bank Manager, Manager SBI , Director RSETI, representatives of Reserve Bank of India and NABARD, bankers and officers of sponsoring departments were present in the meeting.
It was revealed in the meeting that the total deposits up to 30th June of 2014-15 have been recorded at Rs. 750 Cr, which is 11 per cent more than the June Qtr of previous financial year.
The meeting was further informed that Rs. 188.53 Cr were advanced in various potential sectors by the banks during the quarter under review.
An amount of Rs. 52 lakh has been disbursed under the agricultural sector to the farmers upto endig June 2014. The overall CD Ratio in the district has been recorded at 25 per cent, showing considerable improvement against the previous year, the meeting was told.
It was also informed that 10 per cent amount of the advances is being disbursed to poor sections of the society as per the national average.
Similarly an amount of Rs. 19.25 Lakh has been disbursed to 179 beneficiaries under DRI Scheme by J&K Bank, PNB and P and S banks.
It was also given out that up to June 2014 the banks in the district have issued 1,12,962 KCCs among the farmers.
