UDHAMPUR: The Sacred Akhand Jyoti of Shree Merhada Mata Ji was lit here on Thursday to mark the beginning of Navratras.
The Scared Temple of Merhada Mata is situated at hillock in between village Barmeen and Ghordi of Tehsil Ramnagar.
The President Merhada Mata Pravandak Committee Ghordi Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Management Committee Barmeen, Bhupinter Singh were present on the occasion.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Akhand Jyoti of Marhada Mata would remain for the public darshan at village Ghordi from First Navratra to Third Navratra and it will be carried to Merhada Mata on the of 4th Navratra early in the morning by thousands of devotees amid chanting of Bhajan and Kirtan.
Similarly Akhand Jyoti of Merhada Mata lit at Barmeen would remain at the village Barmeen upto Fifth Navratra and will be carried to Marhada Mata on Sixth Navratra.
Arrangements with regard to supply of drinking water, power supply and security have already been made by the Tehsil administration.
