KATHUA: Deputy Commissioner, Ramesh Kumar on Saturday held a meeting to review the arrangements for Independence Day Celeberations-2017.
The mega event of Independence Day will be held at Sports Stadium Kathua. The contingents drawn from CRPF, District Police, Police Training School, NCC and students will participate in the march past. Cultural Items on the patriotic theme would be presented on the occasion. The day will start with playing of Shahnai Vadan by District Information Centre Kathua at Deputy Commissioner Office and SSP office in the wee hours.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the officers of police, R&B, PHE, PDD, Education, Youth Services & Sports, Municipal Committees and other concerned departments to take all necessary steps for smooth conduct of National event. He directed for putting in place proper arrangements for transport, drinking water, electricity, sanitation, and Medicare with provision of ambulance at the main venue of celebrations for the convenience of the participants. The Fire Services Department was asked to ensure availability of sufficient number of fire tenders to meet any eventuality.
