DDC Ramban reviews preparedness for COVID vaccination

RAMBAN: District Development Commissioner (DDC), Ramban, Nazim Zai Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting of District Task Force Committee(DLTFC) to discuss the modalities for launch of COVID-19 vaccination ahead of the expected the vaccine rollout.
The Vaccination plan is being prepared by the District Task Force Committee in consultation with Chief Medical Officer, District Immunization Officer, BMOs and officers of other departments.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal; Additional SP, Rajni Sharma, Assistant Commissioner (R), Dhirender Sharma; CMO, Dr. Farid Bhat; MS DH, Ramban; Dy. DEO ARTO, besides BMOs and other officers attended the meeting.
The plan is part of the advance preparedness being made in J&K to ensure smooth and time-bound distribution and provision of COVID-19 vaccine when it is available. It covers all aspects from collection and storage of the vaccine to distribution and inoculation.
The DDC directed the CMO, BMOs to prepare a foolproof database in coordination with other departments. He also sought a transport plan in coordination to ensure timely transportation of vaccination to all 118 vaccination centers being established at different locations of the district.
The Chief Education Officer was directed to make available accommodation facilities in educational institutions to the health department wherever required for establishing vaccination points. Targeting over eleven thousand vaccine shots a day with one hundred shots per vaccine site, the vaccination process in Ramban would be completed in a phased manner. Nazim Zai Khan, who is also the Chairman of the District Task Force Committee, asked the committee to include details of logistics requirements in the plan adding that the idea is to ensure a well-prepared and hassle-free vaccination in the district.
Later, the DDC also reviewed the status of sampling and testing of people for COVID-19 and directed the CMO to enhance the rate of sampling especially RTPCR tests to avoid spread of COVID-19 infection.
