DDC inspects NHW four laning, Nashri Tunnel construction works

RAMBAN: District Devel-opment Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz (IAS) conducted a visit from Nashri to Banihal and took stock of progress for ongoing construction work of NHW four laning project, Nashri tunnel and condition of the NHW keeping in view the heavy influx of load carriers and passenger vehicles on National Highway.
ADC, Babu Ram, Project Director NHAI Jammu M.T Attarde, Project Manager IL and FS J.S Rathore, G.M Gammon India Shri Krishna, Project Manager HCC Amit Srivastavo, GM Navyoga Satya Narrayan accompanied the DDC.
The DDC while inspecting National Highway four laning construction work, directed the concerned authorities to speed up the work so that prestigious project is completed in prescribed time.
Taking assurance from the authorities engaged for construction of Nashri Tunnel for its time bound completion, the DDC instructed that the no delay shall be made in this record.
While resolving the land related issues, the DDC instructed the revenue officers for full cooperation to the construction agencies and any hindrance shall be removed swiftly.
The DDC was apprised with other allied issues related to the construction work of four laning out of which some were resolved on the spot besides issuing directions to concerned officers in rest of matters. He also directed all the concerned officers for maintaining of HIGHWAY and due care should be given in keeping alive the quality of the materials used in repair works, he added.
The widening of Nashri to Ramban and Ramban to Banihal stretches is part of the NHAI’s flagship project of four-laning Jammu-Srinagar National Highway including Chenani-Nashri Tunnel. HCC Ltd Construction Company is working on Ramban to Banihal section of the National Highway while Gammon India Ltd is working in Nashri to Ramban section of four-laning project.
Pertinent to mention that Nashri to Banihal will comprise two bypass (Ramban and Chanderkote bypass), including major and minor bridges, culverts, junctions, bus truck lay byes and a 888 meter tunnel for northbound carrier way at Peera to Kunfer Nallah.
