KATHUA: In a joist of initiating helping hand towards the flash flood victims of district, District Congress Committee organised a meeting under the leadership of District Congress Committee President Former-MLC Subash Gupta.
During the meeting, the party leadership discussed various issues concerning floods. District President asked the village, block and Tehsil representatives to adjudge the loss in their respective areas and initiate help to flood victims.
Expressing his views to the media persons Subash Gupta expressed shock over the loss of human lives, property, infrastructure, standing crops and live stock in the entire State due to unprecedented floods caused by the continuous down pour.
He also suggested for maintaining transparency in disbursement of relief to the genuine and affected victims of the havoc.
He stressed upon the Flood Control Department for immediate restoration of damaged protection walls so that any further loss to the property, crop and agriculture land could be averted.
Gupta requested the Government to provide all sorts of help to restore the damaged infrastructure and to assess the loss of crops and residential houses, so that the financial assistance to the affected families could be provided without any further delay.
