Curb militant activities with strong hands: VHP

JAMMU: Vishav Hindu Parishad (VHP) asked the State as well as Centre Government to ensure safe Amarnath Yatra and curb the militant activities with strong hand giving free hand to the security forces.
Speaking to media persons here on Saturday, State VHP President, Leela Karan Sharma condemned the statement of senior PDP leader and Member Parliament Muzzafar Beigh that security forces have not followed the norms while conducting operation to eliminate Burhan Wani, who was a dreaded militant and carrying a prize of Rs 10 Lakh on his head.
“Does Beigh expect that the security forces should have allowed the dreaded terrorist to kill security personnel and wait for permission from Chief Minister,” he questioned?
“This like statement is bound to demoralise the morale of the security forces and also helps to encourage the militants. The time has come that the State Government and Central Government must act fast and swiftly to segregate all these separatists and finish them with heavy hands,” he said, asking to deal firmly with the militants and separatists who have already caused much damage to the vehicles carrying/ bringing the Yatris and compensate the loss caused to the them and the person running the Langars and ensure proper supply to the Langars so that they can meet the needs of the Yatris.
Sharma also condemned the attack on Yatris.
“It has also been noticed that a bus from Delhi when carrying Yatris on their return was stopped by the unruly elements, the Yatris were unloaded, they were beaten, their clothes were torn and were forced to raise slogans of Pakistan Zindabad. This act is highly condemnable,” he alleged.
Sharma also applauded the act of all those persons who evacuated the Yatris which met with an accident and took them to the hospital and provided them all the necessities and facilitates.
The State VHP President warned State and Central Governments to curb activities of these separatist with heavy hand failing which a strong reaction may occur throughout India if any harm is caused to the Yatris.
VHP appealed to the people of Jammu to accommodate the Amaranth Yatris who have come to Jammu so that they may not get a bad impression and also asked the State Administration to accommodate these Yatris in their complex like Chanderbhagha and Jambu Lochan Hall with Langar facilities.
Suresh Chander Working President, Shakti Dutt Sharma Secretary, Sudershan Khajuria Joint General Secretary Baba Amarnath and Budda Amarnath Yatri Niyas and Khem Raj Sharma were also present in the press conference.
